When we decided that this was the lifestyle we wanted, everything happened very quickly. Originally our plan was to move to Oregon when our lease was up at our home in Discovery Bay. However, once we stumbled upon some Youtube videos of people living tiny in their RV's and traveling the country, we were hooked and knew we had to try it. So three short weeks later, in June of 2018 we bought our 2007 Forest River Rockwood Signature Ultra Lite.

Update: Jan 2019

We have finally finished our RV renovations. Even though there are some things we didn’t do from our list, I believe that for us, it’s finished and its home.

All together the renovations took about 4 months. We worked hard to get it done in time before our lease was up but I wouldn’t change a thing! The time frame also gave us the opportunity to live in it and move our things in while renting still in our sticks and bricks home. It gave us a chance to see what we really use, need, loved and wanted to bring with us. It was very eye opening the amount of stuff we had accumulated that just sat in our house and was never touched, used, or even remembered. I think our goal for the future is to never have that much stuff ever again. Hahaha! It was seriously outrageous.

Check out the photos of our renovation and share with us your thoughts and feelings! We love to hear from you!

Our list of big renovation projects is as follows:

  1. Paint cabinetry and trim

  2. Remove wallpaper border and paint walls

  3. Repair and paint counter tops

  4. Replace flooring

  5. Remove and replace furniture (couch, chairs and dinette)

  6. Remove old decals from exterior

We also have some small projects that we're planning to do to make the space organized and more homey.

  1. Create a small "mud room" style entryway (shoes, coats, key storage)

  2. Add closet organizers to maximize space

  3. Window treatments

  4. Add a "wood stove" look electric heater

  5. Kitchen and bathroom sink faux tile backspashes

  6. Add decorations and cozy touches
